High 5 For Fridays!

High 5, it's Friday! I got this blog entry idea from some of my favorite blogers and am excited to be able to apply to my blog now! Every Friday I will choose the top 5 things that happened to me within the week. This is just a fun and positive post to reflect ondifferent things in my life, while giving you a little more insight to who I am ... So away we go!
1. I love making crafts. This week I made yarn wrapped carrots in preparation for Easter. Such a simple and cute craft that doesn't take long at all. Tutorial coming next week for you try for yourself!
2. Yesterday, I got to attend my first hospitality interior design trade show! The registered vendors had beautiful displays of the industries new trends. Innovation Lighting has beautiful chandeliers, and Kravets is featuring a fun fabric line. I can't wait to spec some thier designs in the future!
3. On top of getting to attend the trade show, I was also lucky enough to attend the NEWH Fashion Show event in San Diego. 12 design firms were given a box of interior design materials such as fabrics and flooring that they had to incorporate into a clothing design. The design firms models then rock the runaway where the pieces were auctioned off for student scholarships. I highly suggest if given the oppurtunity to attend one of these events to go!
4. One of my Facebook friends posted about a website she has just signed up for, www.100happydays.com . She urged her friends to sign up and participate with her. I found the concept of the website inspiring so I signed up. Everyday you post on social media a photo of something that makes you happy with #100happydays. The photos can be of your child, pet, new shirt, a sunset, anything that makes you happy. I'm only on day 3 but I find it really uplifting to find happiness all around me! Please let me know if you participate, I would love to follow your posts!
5. Last but certainly not least, my family is all on thier way to Vegas right now!  Since I am such a car fanatic, I have always attended the monster truck shows when they come to Orange County. When my Uncle offered to purchase tickets for our entire family to attend the finals in Vegas we were all in! I am very close with my family so I am excited for a mini weekend vacation with them!
Well that's the recap of my week! Hope your week/weekend was/is as exciting as mine!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Tuesdays Tip of the week! 3.18.2014

Face it, we all have that junk drawer packed full of papers just bursting to get out. Well, what are you waiting for? LETS BUST THEM OUT!
Three ring notebooks and/or accordion files are a great tool to use when organizing your paper work.
Take all of the manuals you have stashed in miscellaneous areas of the home and file them. I suggest taking a 3 ring binder and placing the manuals in a plastic sleeve and files under a divider. Next time you need a manual it's right there.
Accordion files and three binders are also  great for filing past taxes, your pet paperwork, and children's art work you can't bare to part with. Use an accordion file to keep all of your mortgage/title documents together then store away until the far future when needed again.
Don't waste valueable accessible space on paperwork you use once in a blue moon. Now go on, BUST those papers losse!
